Smart reference for smart clients
Below I have gathered a list of educational and informative graphic design website and blogs. There is so much to know and learn about graphic design, and it really depends what you are designing or having designed what you need to know. there are some common elements though to keep in mind no matter the project, and these website will help you to find what it is you are looking for information on. I am going to do a few blogs on educating the client soon, touching on things I often wish my clients knew, or had a better idea of when embarking on their jobs. Things such as color theory, typeface selection, and designing for your audience, not for yourself. Please see the attached links as reference and check back soon for part 1 of my new educational series!
A great listing on color theory.
Font shop is an amazing website, you not only can download fonts but they also have a page on font education with free downloadable book touching on topics such as, basic typographic terms, and how to select the right font for the job.
This is a great blog article on letting your audience guide your design.
And last, but certainly not least, Just Creative Design, put out a list of 99 Graphic design resources, even broken down by category to really make finding what you need a breeze!
Enjoy! And please feel free to leave comments on what you want to learn about, or know more about in the field of graphic design or art and I will do my best to write something up to help you. And tell you friends to swing by and check out my blog and website too, as this grows it will help bring in more ideas and concerns and make for a better blog for all!
